The Calder Witch Hunt

This fascinating project supported by the Trust tells the story of women falsely accused of being witches in Calder in the 17th century. The new minister of Calder Kirk was on a mission to eradicate witchcraft, and this resulted in five innocent women being strangled and burnt at the stake.

This gripping true story was played out by the Harburn Players recently and there is a community programme of events which includes an exhibition and education programme for schools in West Lothian.
