Santa Parade
This takes place every Christmas and starts at Parkhead Primary School where families gather before Santa arrives. Kids wearing Santa hats and waving glow sticks donated by the Trust follow is quite a sight as we all follow Santa in his sleigh along Main Street. Santa waves along the way wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. The excitement builds and the laughter gets louder as we get closer to Santa’s Grotto in the Community Centre.
A gift from Santa awaits the young ones as they queue waiting to see him in his grotto, meanwhile there’s a photo opportunity to sit on Santa’s magnificent sleigh. A fine Christmas market awaits those looking to purchase hand crafted gifts and there are lots of other lovely goodies on sale from local stall holders. Activities and story reading are the order of the day and give the adults a chance to grab a coffee from the Brunch Club. This is an event not to be missed this year so look out for our update nearer the time.
